- This card can destroy itself.
- You can combo this card with any card that activates its effect when it is destroyed while face-down.
- Use "Ancient Rules" bring out "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and summon out "Magna Drago" then as long as the field is clear and you have two cards to sacrifice you have yourself an OTK.
- Using this card's effect to destroy your own cards, you can destroy "Gigastone Omega" to destroy all of your opponent's Spell and Traps Cards with 2 or more attacks without the disturbance of Trap Cards.
- If you're willing to destroy your own Spell and Trap Cards as well, Gigantes requires one less monster to summon than Gigastone Omega.
- To summon this card easily, use "Lava Dragon's" effect to Special Summon two Level 3 Dragons, then Normal Summon "Debris Dragon". You'll have the requirements to Synchro Summon this card.
- Use its effect to destroy "Geartown" and/or "Dark Coffin". You would get to Special Summon another big monster, preferably "Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon" to attack alongside this card and/or if your opponent has no cards in their hand, they'll have to destroy their monsters, thus making their life points easier to attack.
- Use this card effect in combination with 2 "Statue of the Wicked" for a possible OTK.
- Two easy combinations for this card is to use a Level 8 dragon like "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" or "Tyrant Dragon" with the Level 2 "Magna Drago" or a Level 6 dragon such as "Prime Material Dragon" or "Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings" with the Level 4 "Debris Dragon" (Or by increasing the level of the other level 6 dragon by 1, "Delta Fly" would also be good).
- Combo this card with "Twin-Headed Behemoth" and/or "Sangan". If you destroy either one, you're guaranteed to have at least one monster on the field or hand.
- If you decide to destroy your own cards with "Trident Dragion", you can chain cards like "Waboku" or "Enemy Controller" before they are destroyed. This way, you get the most out of all three cards.
- Trap Stun is an excellent card to use for this, as it will also clear the way for any attacks.
- Activate "D. Tribe" to make Synchro Summoning this card easier.
- A easy way to summon this card in one turn is to summon "Lord of D." and use "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" and summon "Debris Dragon" and one Dragon-type Level 6 Monster Cards and use the effect on "Lord of D." to attack two times.
- You can even use Urgent Tuning to attack with these monsters for damage without worry (due to Lord of D.).
- You can use "Stray Lambs", "Scapegoat", or other tokens to give "Trident Dragion" extra attacks.
- An easy way to summon this card is by summoning "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" and using its effect to summon "Magna Drago", and then use "Level Retuner" on "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" and Synchro Summon "Trident Dragion".
- "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" works well with this card.
- Use "DNA Surgery" after you flip over "Spear Cretin" and use it for this card's Synchro Summon to give you another monster on the field.
- Activate and destroy "Trap Stun" to reduce chances of a counter.
- You can destroy "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" to destroy your opponent's monsters and gain an additional attack.
- If you use Elemental Hero Clayman as fusion material, you can summon Gigantes along side Absolute Zero, then destroy them both to remove the opponents monsters and spell/trap cards. This will probably take more than one turn to execute though.
- For a possible OTK, use "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction" to clear the field, then use it and "Magna Drago" to Summon this card. Just try and make sure you have cards to destroy for this card's extra attacks.
- You can use this card's effect most efficiently by summoning "Debris Dragon" and using its effect to bring back something useless, i.e. "Totem Dragon" or "Decoy Dragon", then play "Call of the Haunted" to revive a Level 6 Dragon like "Tiger Dragon" or "Strong Wind Dragon" and Synchro Summon this card. Thanks to "Debris Dragon" you now have a useless monster to destroy, and because you used the monster you revived with "Call of the Haunted" for a Synchro Summon, you also have it to destroy meaning you will not have to destroy anything useful on the field and you will not have to minus yourself in Card Advantage to use this card's effect.
- This card works well with the Malefics because of how easy they are to summon, and because the Field Card can be used for its effect.
- You can Synchro Summon this card easily if you Synchro Summon "Iron Chain Dragon" by using a "Debris Dragon" to Special Summon a lvl 2 monster and then later using another "Debris Dragon" to Synchro Summon "Trident Dragion".
- If you have a monster that was special summoned with "Call of the Haunted" you can destroy the monster and call of the haunted to get both of the extra attacks. You can also chain Call of the Haunted when you Synchro Summon Trident Dragion.
- An especially effective way to summon to take your opponent's Level 8 Dragon such as Stardust Dragon or Dark End Dragon with Brain Control or Mind Control and tune it with Magna Drago.
- If you have Magna Drago in your graveyard you can special summon it with Call of the Haunted. Then activate Mausoleum of the Emperor and normal summon Tyrant Dragon. You can then activate Urgent Tuning to Syncro for Trident Dragion. Then destroy Mausoleum and the now-useless Call of the Haunted. If successful, up to six attacks are possible.
