- This card can be searched via Witch of the Black Forest.
- Use "Thunder Dragon's" effect, and discard them all to the Graveyard, so you have enough LIGHT monsters to remove from play, for cards such as "Soul of Purity and Light's" Summon Condition, or "Freed the Brave Wanderer's" effect.
- After you discard "Thunder Dragon" to get two more into your hand, you can use "Polymerization" (Using cards such as "Fusion Sage" if necessary) to Fusion Summon "Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon", a powerful monster with 2800 ATK, whilst effectively only decreasing your hand size by two cards.
- This card can also be useful if you use card effects which require you to discard as a cost, essentially allowing you to use such cards for free up to two times.
- This card is good in an Exodia deck that tries to thin out your deck until the only five cards in your deck are Exodia, Left and Right Leg of the Forbidden One, and the Left and Right Leg of the Forbidden One, so you can draw them and win.
- This card is good with Eccentric Boy to fill the hand with level 5's and synchro for level 8 synchro's
- Use this card with Hand Destruction.
- Use this card with cards that benefit from a larger hand such as Muka Muka.
- Use this card with cards that require a large hand such as Final Destiny.
- Use this card with cards like Card Destruction,Magical mallet,or Reload.
