- This card can be searched via "Photon Veil" and another "Thunder Dragon".
- If you need enough LIGHT monsters to banish for cards such as the Summon Condition of "Soul of Purity and Light", or the effect of "Freed the Brave Wanderer", discard 1 "Thunder Dragon" via its effect to search for a second copy, then discard the second to the Graveyard to search for a third copy.
- After you discard "Thunder Dragon" to get two more into your hand, you can use "Polymerization" (Using such cards as "King of the Swamp", if necessary) to Fusion Summon "Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon", a powerful monster with 2800 ATK, whilst effectively only decreasing your hand size by two cards.
- This card can also be useful if you use card effects which require you to discard as a cost, essentially allowing you to use such cards for free up to two times.
- This card is good in an The Forbidden One deck that tries to thin out the deck so that all 5 pieces of Exodia are drawn quickly.
- This card is good with "Eccentric Boy" to fill the hand with level 5 monsters and Synchro Summon for a level 8 Synchro Monster.
- Use this card with cards that benefit from a larger hand such as "Muka Muka" or "Final Destiny".
- Use this card with cards like "Hand Destruction", "Card Destruction", "Magical Mallet", or "Reload" to draw more cards.
