  • You can use "Instant Fusion" and Special Summon "Darkfire Dragon" and remove it to Special Summon this card and still have your Normal Summon for that turn. This is especially handy when comboing with monsters like "Chthonian Emperor Dragon". But be careful, as it burns up the cards in your hand very easily, so keep cards like "Reckless Greed" handy when you use this strategy.
  • This card makes great use of Trade-In to get a Dark Horus into the Graveyard. If you do this, you get 2 dragons with 2800+ ATK each.
  • This card can be special summoned by King Dragun's effect to give you an extra special summon. If you have a Prime Material Dragon in hand or the graveyard, you can protect all three monsters fairly well and have two free special summons a turn.
  • Be careful of "Zombie World's" effect,as it will make this card's effect useless because it will change every monster(s) on the field and in the Graveyard into Zombie-type.
  • Note that this card can be summoned as early as the first turn, and as easily as simply removing a "Troop Dragon" from play. Take advantage of this.
