- This card can be searched by "Soul Rope", "Resonator Engine", "Vampire Dragon", "Summoner Monk", "Giant Rat" and another "Pyramid Turtle".
- The only Zombies without Summoning restrictions that cannot be summoned by this card are "Despair from the Dark", "Red Ogre" and "The Lady in Wight".
- Often, it is a good idea to suicide your "Pyramid Turtle" so that you can search for a monster with higher ATK and attack again.
- "Pyramid Turtle" is one of the few searchers that will allow you to Special Summon its new recruit in Defense Position. Use this to your advantage. This card is also one of the few searchers not banned that allows you to search based on the DEF of a monster. Since most beatdown monsters have extremely low DEF, this can bring out some heavy hitters such as "Skull Flame", "Koa'ki Meiru Ghoulungulate" or "Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon".
- Use "Creature Swap" with this card to get a stronger monster from your opponent, then destroy "Pyramid Turtle" in battle, Special Summon a monster with its effect and attack again.
- To reuse the effects of this card, combo it with "Return of the Doomed", during a turn in which this card is suicided to re-obtain this card
- Use this card's effect to bring out "Patrician of Darkness" to set up a defensive wall with other "Turtles", searchers and walls such as "Mystic Tomato" and "Spirit Reaper" while having a mild beatstick to set up your side of the field.
- When this card is destroyed by battle in Defense Position you can activate "Broken Blocker", which allows you to summon up to 2 more "Pyramid Turtles" from your Deck as well as getting the Special Summon effect.
