• By using the effect of “A Cat of Ill Omen” to search this card, you can get this card to the top of the deck early.
  • If you use the effect of “A Cat of Ill Omen” while “Necrovalley” is on the field, you don't need to send the card you selected to your hand, as “A Cat of Ill Omen” gives you the option to do it, but does not force you.
  • This card has a slight deck-thickening effect, so it works best in decks that have high draw power (such as “Destiny Heroes”). It lets you recycle any one card from your Graveyard without cost, though, generally making it well worth it.

Traditional Format

  • You can use this card with “The Transmigration Prophecy” and “Pot of Avarice” to fill your deck with cards from your Graveyard. Using them on each other allows continuous use.
    • The above combo might be the one of the reasons why "Pot of Avarice" was banned, due to spawning a sporadic cycle of Draw Engine/Deck-thickening
