- This card works well in Burn Deck that uses "Lava Golem". Since the ATK of "Lava Golem" is 3000 and this card's is 2800, you can attack directly until this card runs out of Xyz Material and cause your opponent 1000 damage per turn. If you can use "Waboku" or similar cards to defend "Dyson Sphere" when it runs out of Material, you can kill your opponent in 3 of your turns.
- Use cards like "Mist Body", "Half Shut" and "Vicious Claw", to prevent a monster from destroying "Dyson Sphere" by battle when it has no materials
- However, do not use "Safe Zone", as it will make the "Sphere" unable to attack the opponent directly.
- As this card virtually cannot be destroyed by battle, use cards that prevent destruction by effect to make it virtually invincible. Examples of such cards: "Utopian Aura", "Destruction Jammer", "My Body as a Shield", "Stardust Dragon", "Prime Material Dragon", etc.
- Use "Royal Decree" to stop your opponent from using Trap Cards at all. That leaves your opponent only being able to destroy it with Spell Cards.
- If this card is targeted for an attack with no Xyz Materials, you don't have to reattach the monsters you used to Summon it. You can target two different monsters.
- Use this effect to attach "Tour Bus From the Underworld" to this card. If it gets destroyed, you can then use the effect "Tour Bus".
- This card combos well with "Xyz Veil" since it will always have Xyz Material on it. coupled with the fact that once per turn it can negate an attack, Xyz Veil will make this card nearly invincible.
- Use "Oni-Gami Combo" after activating its effect to attack directly, to inflict 5600 Battle Damage to your opponent. Then use "Limiter Removal" for a OTK.
Xyz Summoning
- One of the easiest ways to bring this card out is by using "Tannhäuser Gate". You can use easy-to-Summon Level 5 or Level 6 monsters with 1000 or less ATK, then combine them, respectively, with Level 4 or Level 3 monsters with 1000 or less ATK and the same Type, use "Gate", then overlay for "Number 9: Canopy Star - Dyson Sphere".
- List of possible Level combinations to bring out "Dyson Sphere" with "Tannhäuser Gate":
- 1 Level 5 monster + 1 Level 4 monster (e.g. "Vice Dragon" and "Divine Dragon Apocralyph")
- 1 Level 6 monster + 1 Level 3 monster (e.g. "Destiny HERO - Malicious" and "Destiny HERO - Doom Lord")
- 1 Level 7 monster + 1 Level 2 monster (e.g. "Fog King" and "Apprentice Magician")
- 1 Level 8 monster + 1 Level 1 monster (e.g. "Clockwork Shikigami" and "Unknown Synchron")
- Another highly recommended card is "Galaxy Queen's Light". With this, you will only need one Level 9 monster on the field - activate while you control another monster, then overlay the two for "Dyson Sphere".
- For example, in a "Yubel" deck, you can Summon this card by using "Stygian Street Patrol" to Special Summon "Yubel", and decrease its Level to 9 for "Level Eater". Then, you can activate "Galaxy Queen's Light" or "Star Light, Star Bright", and Overlay for "Dyson Sphere". The combo uses only 2 cards from the hand and 2 from the Graveyard, and can be executed with any easily Summonable Level 10 monster such as "Metaion, the Timelord".
- "Gem-Knight" Decks can also potentially bring out Dyson Sphere by using Galaxy Queen's Light on "Gem-Knight Master Dia".
- In a "HERO" deck, you can use "Miracle Contact" to Summon Level 9 "Neos" Fusion Monsters, including "Elemental HERO Chaos Neos", "Elemental HERO Magma Neos", and "Elemental HERO Storm Neos", in an attempt to bring "Dyson Sphere" out.
- Special Summon "Vice Dragon" with his effect and then Normal Summon "Divine Dragon Apocralyph". After you have both out activate "Tannhäuser Gate" making both Level 9.
- In Fairy Decks, you can use "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" to Special Summon either "Moisture Creature" or "Winged Kuriboh LV9", Normal Summon 1 other Fairy-Type monster, then use "Galaxy Queen's Light" to make them both Level 9 for "Dyson Sphere".
- In WATER Decks, you can use the effect of "Forgotten Capital Lemuria" while you control only "Atlantean Dragon Poseidra" and "Mermail - Megaloabyss" since both are Level 7 monster "Lemuria" will raise both of their Level to 9.
- With Foolish Burial you can send a Level 9 monster from the Deck to the Graveyard and then use Tragoedia to target that monster and make Tragoedia's Level 9. Then, summon a Dark Fiend-type monster and use Resonance Device to target that monster and Tragoedia. Both monster become Level 9. Then overlay Number 9: Canopy Star - Dyson Sphere. This kind of strategy mixes well with Dark World.
