* This card can be searched by "Dogu", "Single Purchase", "Painful Escape", "Sangan","Witch of the Black Forest", "Chaos Zone", "Magical Contract Door", "Draconnection" and "Krystal Dragon".
* Set this card on the field, then use Book of Taiyou to keep the card on the field, then each turn you can pay half of your life points to nuke the field and have this card to increase the ATK.

* This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute using "Double Coston", "Totem Dragon", "Keeper of the Shrine" and "The First Monarch".
* You can use Burial from a Different Dimension to bring back 3 monsters removed from play to your graveyard, and use Monster Reincarnation to bring them to your hand.

* "Mausoleum of the Emperor" and "Star Blast" are economical ways of Summoning this card, since their LP costs essentially mean only an extra 1000 LP is paid for this card's effect (as compared to Summoning this card normally and then using its effect).

* Monster such as "Dynatherium" and "Gilasaurus" are ideal monsters to use for this card's Tribute Summon, since their effects can provide an additional monster for this card's effect to destroy and banish.
* This card can be Tribute Summoned with one tribute using "Double Coston" or "Totem Dragon", which will allow you to keep one extra monster on the field.

* Since this card has an original ATK of 0, and its effect drastically reduces one's own LP, it pairs quite well with "Unstable Evolution".

* This card's effect works well with the effects of cards that activate when they themselves are banished, such as "D.D. Survivor", "D.D. Scout Plane", "Xyz Dimension Splash", etc.
* Using a DNA Surgery combo in conjunction with Telekinetic Charging Cell, the cost for Gandora's effect can be nullified, thus reduced to zero, albeit for only one turn due to the nature of his effect.

* This card's End Phase effect can be avoided by either of the following methods:
* You can easily Tribute Summon this card with "Fires of Doomsday" or "Stray Lambs" and Tribute Set it.

  +
** First Tribute Setting it, then using a card like "Book of Taiyou" to change it to face-up Attack Position.
  +
*** "Fires of Doomsday" and "Stray Lambs" are efficient cards to use for this, since their effects prevent its activator from Summoning other monsters during the turn they're activated (which Tribute Setting avoids).
  +
** Banishing it temporarily before returning it to the field, such as by the effects of "Dimensionhole", "Future Visions", "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", etc.

  +
* If this card is able to avoid its End Phase effect, it is best to use cards that produce Tokens in order to capitalize on its destroy-and-banish effect, such as "Scapegoat", "Scapeghost", "Grinder Golem", "Phantom Skyblaster", etc.
* This card can be used with "Crush Card Virus" to great effect.

**"Deck Devastation Virus" and "Eradicator Epidemic Virus" could also potentially use this card, depending on the number of cards destroyed and removed from play for its effect; however, since this card eliminates all other cards on the field prior to gaining attack, these traps would need to be set afterwards, and since this card is destroyed at the end of the turn these traps would become useless, unless you play "Cathedral of Nobles" (Traditional Format only) during Main Phase 2 or sent a "Makyura the Destructor (Traditional Format only) to your Graveyard before using Gandora's effect.

* Before this card gets sent to the Graveyard by its End Phase effect, it can still be utilized for the cost of cards like "Advance Draw", "Mystik Wok", etc.
* "Mausoleum of the Emperor" is great with this card as it allows you to keep two extra monsters you have as fodder.

  +
* This card is a good card to banish by the effect of "Phantom of Chaos", since that monster's effect can be made to 'expire' during the End Phase before its gained End Phase effect activates.
* This card works fairly well with a Deck based on removing things from play, also know as a Macro Deck. This is because you can use Macro's "D.D. Survivor" and "D.D. Scout Plane" as Tribute fodder, and because this card's field nuke attack removes cards from play when it destroys them.

  +
* In a Dragon-Type Deck, this card's effect works well for clearing the field before making an aggressive play by Special Summoning "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" (by banishing this card) and then using its effect to Special Summon another Dragon-Type monster for subsequent direct attacks.
* This card can be deadly with/against a Crystal Beast Deck.

  +
* Send to the Graveyard using "Dragon Shrine", "Foolish Burial", or "Trade-In"
  +
** Use "Recurring Nightmare" to recycle "Gandora(s)" for reuse by "Trade-In" and/or card advantage.

  +
Traditional Format
* You can use Dimensionhole to keep this card on the field since it will remove it from play on the turn Gandora was summoned, meaning that the turn's End Phase that it would have been "sent to the Graveyard" has been legally skipped and Gandora will be able to stay as long as you want. However, Gandora's attack will return to 0 during the next Standby Phase when it returns to the field, but it can accumulate ATK later on. For this reason, you might not want to use it's effect during the turn it is summoned, instead remove it and use it when it comes back.

* This card can be searched by "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms".

* Before this card is destroyed by its effect, use "Metamorphosis" to summon "Cyber Twin Dragon".
* Use Herald of Creation to return this Dragon to your hand.

* This card is a prime target for Dark Eruption and Recurring Nightmare.

* You can use this card's effect to summon Theinen the Great Sphinx, but be wary of your life points.

* In a Dinosaur deck, this card works well when used in conjunction with Tyranno Infinity.

* Summon "Phantom of Chaos" and remove this card in your Graveyard from play then clear the field.

* Chain "Nightmare Archfiends" or "Ojama Trio" to the summon of this card to inflict even more damage than just your direct attack.

* A good way to prevent it from being sent to the Graveyard by its own effect is by first Setting it, then use Book of Taiyou to switch it to face-up attack position.

* Before it gets destroyed by its effect, you can Tribute this card for "Advance Draw", "Mystik Wok" or other cards like them.

* This card can work good in Macro decks. Use Return From the Different Dimension to bring back creatures like D.D. Scout Plane and D.D. Survivor, then use Gandora's effect to destroy everything on the field and gain a bigger ATK bonus. Then at the end of the turn, Survivor and Scout Plan will come back.

* This cards effect can trigger your own Starlight Road however the life point cost may be very unattractive.

* Use this card with Future Visions to dodge the self-destruct effect, because he isn't summoned again by the effect of Future Visions
