- This card works great with "Malice Doll of Demise", and for any cards that flip themselves face-down, like "Stealth Bird" and "Golem Sentry".
- "Ectoplasmer" can be used after "Lightning Vortex", that way your opponent can't summon a face-up monster without getting it destroyed at the end of the turn
- Try to combo this card with "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast", "Majestic Mech - Ohka" or similar monsters for more damage.
- Try to use this Card with cards that take control of a opponent's monster for one turn like "Brain Control".
- Lich Lord, King of the Underworld and Diabolos, King of the Abyss both work extremely well with this card, especially Diabolos. Selecting Diabolos will cause you to not tribute any monsters at all for Ectoplasmer.
