The most rapid way to get out Dark Magician using "Sage's Stone" is to use Magician's Circle when one of your (or your opponent's) Spellcasters declares an attack, and summoning Dark Magician Girl with it. At the end of the battle phase, use Sage's Stone. If you want, you can then tribute the Dark Magician for one of its upgraded forms, which will also power up the Dark Magician Girl.

This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute, using either "Double Coston", "Dark Effigy" or Special Summoned with one tribute using "Tribute Doll".
