Revision as of 02:18, 22 January 2018
This card's OCG and TCG rulings contradict each other.
Differences In the TCG, if your opponent controls a card, you MUST activate its effect once during each of your turns. |
OCG Rulings
- "Armityle the Chaos Phantom" and "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon" can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by effects like "Call of the Haunted" or "Premature Burial", but only if they were sent to the Graveyard after being properly Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. However, "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" has the text "This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard.", so it cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, even if it was sent to the Graveyard after being properly Special Summoned from the Extra Deck.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - This card's first effect is not optional. If the opponent has any cards on their side of the field, you must use this effect during your turn. This effect targets and can be chained to.
- If you select to remove a face-down Spell or Trap Card, and the opponent activates it in a chain, the card will still be removed from play after it resolves.
- This card's second effect targets the monster you attack. It is a Trigger Effect that activates when you declare the attack, and it can be chained to.
- If you attack a face-down Defense Position monster and activate this card's effect to change its Battle Position, the monster will be changed to face-up Attack Position. If it has a Flip Effect it will not be activated, as stated on the card.
- Once properly Summoned by the method written in the text this card can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard with effects like "Call of the Haunted" or "Re-Fusion".
A-to-Z monster rulings
OCG Rulings
- When Special Summoning "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon"/"XYZ-Dragon Cannon"/etc, you cannot use "Goddess with the Third Eye" etc as a Fusion Substitute Monster.[12]
- "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" etc cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by "Premature Burial"/"Call of the Haunted"/etc, even if it was properly Special Summoned beforehand.[13]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[14] They were previously considered official, but may or may not necessarily hold true nowadays. |
- The following rules apply to "XYZ-Dragon Cannon", "YZ-Tank Dragon", "XY-Dragon Cannon", and "XZ-Tank Cannon".[15][Notes 1]
- These monsters cannot be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck except by the method described in their text. So they cannot be Special Summoned by the effect of "Magical Scientist" or "Summoner of Illusions". They cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard even after they have been Special Summoned by the method described in their texts.[15][Notes 2]
- You must banish the monsters specified; you cannot use "Goddess with the Third Eye", etc., because you are not performing a Fusion Summon.[15]
- You CAN remove a face-down "X-Head Cannon", etc., from play to Special Summon one of these monsters from the Extra Deck.[15]
- The Special Summoning of these monsters from the Extra Deck has no Spell Speed and cannot be chained to (but can be negated with "Solemn Judgment").[15]
Notes
- ↑ The following Rulings should apply also to "VW-Tiger Catapult" and "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon". They aren't mentioned in this Ruling because they were released after this Ruling was created.
- ↑ The last line of this Ruling does not apply to "VW-Tiger Catapult" and "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon" as they don't have this restriction.
