- Even if there is a face-down Xyz Monster with Xyz Materials on the field, the face-down monster is not treated as an Xyz Monster. Therefore, if there are no face-up Xyz Monsters and the only Xyz Monsters are face-down, "Photon Slasher" cannot be Special Summoned from the hand.[1]
