Card Rulings:Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon

OCG Rulings

• "When this card is Special Summoned: You can return all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls to the hand. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this effect's activation." effect is a Trigger Effect. (Its effect does not target. It can be activated during the Damage Step.)

• If "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" is successfully Ritual Summoned, and then is Special Summoned by "Monster Reborn" from the Graveyard: You can activate the "You can return all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls to the hand." effect.

• "Your opponent must pay 500 LP to activate card effects." is a Continuous Effect.

• If the opponent of the player controlling an "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" cannot pay 500 LP, they cannot activate Spells, Traps, their effects or monster effects.

• Because "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" is a Special Summon monster that must first be Ritual Summoned, it cannot be Special Summoned from the hand or Deck with "Performapal Dramatic Theater". While an "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" that was sent to the Graveyard after being Ritual Summoned can be Special Summoned by the effect of "Performapal Dramatic Theater", an "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" sent directly from the hand or Deck to the Graveyard cannot.

• The "Your opponent must pay 500 LP to activate card effects." effect is an effect of "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon", and prevents the opponent from using cards or effects if they cannot pay 500 LP. The opponent paying 500 LP is not a cost to activate a card's effect, therefore, you cannot Chain "Cash Back" to "Mathematician" activating its effect.

• The "Your opponent must pay 500 LP to activate card effects." effect of the other player's "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" applies to you, so you must pay 500 Life Points to activate card effects. First, "Spellbook of Power" is activated, so you pay 500 LP because of the effect of "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon". Then, after battling, the "each time it destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can add 1 "Spellbook" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand." effect of "Spellbook of Power" is applied. You pay 500 LP because of the effect of "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon". (Therefore, in this case, a total of 1000 LP will be paid.)

• The "Your opponent must pay 500 LP to activate card effects." effect of the other player's "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" applies to you, so you must pay 500 Life Points to activate card effects. The effect of "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" doesn't affect monsters, thus you must pay LP to activate the effect of "Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora".

• The "Your opponent must pay 500 LP to activate card effects." effect of the other player's "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" applies to you, so you must pay 500 LP to activate card effects. First, to activate "Qliphort Scout" in your Pendulum Zone as a Spell Card, you need to pay 500 LP due to the effect of "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon". Then, to activate the Pendulum Effect of "Qliphort Scout", you need to pay 500 LP due to the effect of "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon". • Question: The "If your opponent controls 2 or more monsters and you control no monsters, you can also send "Odd-Eyes" monsters from your Extra Deck to the Graveyard. " effect of "Odd-Eyes Advent" is applied, if "Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon" is being Ritual Summoned, can a face-down "Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon" in the Extra Deck be sent to the Graveyard?
