OCG Rulings[]
- This effect allows you to detach 1 Xyz Material from Number 19: Freezadon when you would pay the cost of the effect of an Xyz Monster by detaching an Xyz Material.[1]
- The effect of a "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon" or "Number 34: Terror-Byte" which no longer has any Xyz Materials can be activated by detaching 1 Xyz Material from "Number 19: Freezadon" instead to pay the cost.[2]
- For effects like that of "Evolzar Laggia" which detaches 2 or more Xyz Materials as a cost, 1 of the Xyz Materials of "Number 19: Freezadon" can be detached, as well as detaching 1 of the Xyz Materials of "Evolzar Laggia", for a total of 2 Xyz Materials. Furthermore, 2 of the Xyz Materials of "Number 19: Freezadon" cannot be detached to pay the entire cost.[3]
- 1 Xyz Material cannot be detached from "Number 19: Freezadon" when the effect of "Tiras, Keeper of Genesis" resolves. Also, 1 Xyz Material cannot be detached from "Number 19: Freezadon" when the effect of "Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction" resolves.[4]
- If a "Number 39: Utopia" with no Xyz Materials is attacked by the opponent, 1 Xyz Material can be detached from "Number 19: Freezadon" instead to activate the effect of "Number 39: Utopia" that negates attacks. Also, the effect of "Number 39: Utopia" that destroys itself when attacked while it has no Xyz Materials activates as Chain Link 1, then the effect that negates attacks activates as Chain Link 2 by detaching 1 Xyz Material from "Number 19: Freezadon". Therefore, the attack of the opponent's monster is negated, and then "Number 39: Utopia" is destroyed.[5]
- If 1 Xyz Material would be detached during the Damage Step or damage calculation, 1 Xyz Material from "Number 19: Freezadon" can be detached instead.[6]
- If there's a "Number 19: Freezadon" on the field at the time the effect of "Wind-Up Zenmaines" that detaches Xyz Materials instead when it would be destroyed is activated, the effect of "Number 19: Freezadon" cannot be activated.[7]
