OCG Rulings
- The effect "Your opponent cannot select any Dragon-Type monsters as the target(s) of Spell, Trap, or Monster Card effects." is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- While this effect of "King Dragun" is being applied, your opponent cannot target Dragon-Type monsters on the field. (Your opponent can target Dragon-Type monsters in the Graveyard and banished Dragon-Type monsters.)[1]
- Even if an effect targets 2 or more cards like "Icarus Attack", your opponent still cannot target Dragon-Type monsters.[1]
- Your opponent can use effects that do not target like "Creature Swap" or "Super Polymerization" on Dragon-Type monsters.[1]
- The effect "Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand." is an Ignition Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
Previously Official Rulings
![]() | These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - The first effect of "King Dragun" is a Continuous Effect. The second effect of "King Dragun" is an Ignition Effect.
- Your opponent cannot target a Dragon-Type Fusion Monster with "De-Fusion" while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field because "De-Fusion" targets.
- "Divine Wrath" is NOT a card that targets, so "Divine Wrath" may be used against Dragon-Type monsters while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field.
- You can chain "Divine Wrath" to the effect of "King Dragun" that Special Summons a Dragon-Type monster.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Divine Wrath: You can chain "Divine Wrath" to the effect of "King Dragun" that Special summons a Dragon-Type monster.
- Last Turn: "Last Turn" does not target so you can select monsters like "Tyrant Dragon" and "Fiend Skull Dragon" for its effect, or a Dragon-Type monster while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field. You can select "Spirit Reaper" and it will not be destroyed by its effect.
