OCG Rulings[]
- The effect of "Helpoemer" which discards from the hand starts a Chain Link.[1]
- You cannot activate a card like "Monster Reborn" by targeting "Helpoemer".[1]
Previously Official Rulings[]
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - When you have multiple "Helpoemer" cards in your Graveyard, each with an activated effect, the effects are cumulative.
- If your opponent chooses not to conduct a Battle Phase, there is no timing for the end of the Battle Phase, so the effect of "Helpoemer" is not activated. The same is true if the Battle Phase is skipped due to a card effect.
- "Helpoemer" cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard even if it was not destroyed as a result of battle (the final sentence on "Helpoemer" is a condition, not an effect, and is not subject to the first sentence on "Helpoemer").[Notes 1]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Diffusion Wave Motion: A Level 7 Spellcaster-Type monster selected with "Diffusion Wave-Motion" will negate: ... the effects of... "Helpoemer"...
- Divine Wrath: You can activate "Divine Wrath" when the effect of "Helpoemer" activates in the Graveyard
, and the effect of "Helpoemer" will not activate again.[Notes 2]
- Gemini Imps: When your opponent activates the effect of “Dark Coffin” or “Helpoemer”, you can Chain “Gemini Imps” to negate the effect. However, because the “Dark Coffin” or “Helpoemer” is in the Graveyard, it cannot be destroyed so you will not draw a card for “Gemini Imps”.
- Necrovalley: "Necrovalley" will not negate effects that are activated when a card is sent to the Graveyard or that activates IN the Graveyard or that count cards in the Graveyard. So it will not negate the effects of... "Helpoemer"...
- Question: If a monster is named with "Question" that could not be Special Summoned, "Question"'s effect disappears and the monster is neither Special Summoned nor removed from play. So the effect of "Question" disappears if the bottom monster is incorrectly named and is "Helpoemer", "Dark Ruler Ha Des", etc.
- Sasuke Samurai: If "Sasuke Samurai" destroys a face-down monster using its effect, the face-down monster is NOT "destroyed as a result of battle", it is destroyed by "Sasuke Samurai"’s effect. So "Mystic Tomato", "Helpoemer", etc. will not activate their effects. […]
Notes[]
- ↑ In the latest print of "Helpoemer", the text being referred to as the "final sentence" is now the first sentence, and the text referred to as the "first sentence" is now the second sentence.
- ↑ The latest print of "Helpoemer" has Problem-Solving Card Text which states that its effect only requires it to be in the Graveyard due to being destroyed by battle, so its effect can be activated again even if its effect is negated by "Divine Wrath".
