OCG Rulings[]
- The monster effect "While you control another Fiend-Type monster, this card cannot be attacked" is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- The monster effect "The ATK and DEF of this card are each equal to the number of Fiend-Type monsters on the field (excluding this card) x 1000" is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- The ATK and DEF of "Goblin King" itself become the number of other face-up Fiend-Type monsters in either player's Monster Zones.[1]
- If the total number of other face-up Fiend-Type monsters in either player's Monster Zones changes, its ATK and DEF also change immediately.[1]
Previously Official Rulings[]
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If you have 2 "Goblin Kings", or a "Goblin King" equipped with "Raregold Armor" and another Fiend-Type monster, your opponent cannot attack.
- "Goblin King's" second effect includes Fiend-Type monsters on your opponent's side of the field.
- Face-down Fiend-Type monsters are not included for "Goblin King's" second effect.
- If you equip "Megamorph" to "Goblin King", "Goblin King's" ATK is 0.
- If you have a Fiend-Type monster and a face-down "Goblin King", and "Goblin King" is attacked, "Goblin King's" ATK and DEF increase after he's flipped face-up, but before damage calculation's applied.
