TCG Rulings[]
- This effect targets the monster you wish to destroy.[1]
- The target must be a face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls with the same Attribute as this card when this effect resolves.[1]
- This card must be face-up when its effect resolves or else the target monster is not destroyed.[1]
OCG Rulings[]
- The effect of "Genex Ally Duradark" targets one face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field.[2]
- When resolving the effect of "Genex Ally Duradark" the targeted monster will be destroyed only if it is face-up on the opponent's field in Attack Position and has the same Attribute as "Genex Ally Duradark". When resolving the effect, if the monster is not face-up on the field in Attack Position, or if it has a different Attribute than "Genex Ally Duradark", or if control of it changed so that you now control it, then the targeted monster will not be destroyed.[3]
- When resolving the effect of "Genex Ally Duradark", if the "Genex Ally Duradark" which activated the effect is face-down - for example, "Book of Moon" was Chained to the effect and flipped Genex Ally Duradark" face-down - then the targeted monster is not destroyed.[4]
