- The effect "Gains 500 ATK for each monster it points to." is a Continuous Effect. (If the number of monsters this card points to changes, the gained ATK also changes immediately.)[1]
- While "Decode Talker" is in the Extra Monster Zone, it gains ATK even if there is a monster in your opponent's Main Monster Zone pointed by its Link Arrows.[1]
- The effect "When your opponent activates a card or effect that targets a card(s) you control (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 monster this card points to; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card." is a Quick Effect. (It can also be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- The effect "negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card." does not target. It is activated directly in Chain to the activation of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card, the activation of the effect of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card, or the activation of an opponent's monster effect, that targets a card(s) you control.[1]
- Tributing 1 of your monsters pointed by this card's Link Arrows is a cost to activate the effect "negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card.". (While "Decode Talker" is in the Extra Monster Zone, even if there is a monster in your opponent's Main Monster Zone pointed by its Link Arrows, that opponent's monster cannot be Tributed as a cost.)[1]
