Card Rulings:Brain Golem

TCG Rulings

• If “Brain Golem” destroys a monster that was LIGHT on the field but is no longer LIGHT in the Graveyard (because of “Scroll of Bewitchment” or “DNA Transplant”) it can still attack once again.

• The effect of “Sphere of Chaos” is negated if “Brain Golem” is on the field, so “Sphere of Chaos” is not treated as a LIGHT monster.

• If “Brain Golem” becomes a LIGHT monster, its effect is negated but all other LIGHT monsters are applied normally.

• “Brain Golem” only negates the effects of face-up LIGHT monsters on the field. If a monster is no longer face-up on the field, its effect is not negated by “Brain Golem.”

OCG Rulings

• While the effect of "Brain Golem" is active, "Sphere of Chaos" will only be treated as a DARK monster. It will not be treated as a LIGHT monster.

• The effect of "Brain Golem" which allows it to attack again activates after Damage Calculation when the opponent's monster is considered to be destroyed, as long as the Attribute of the destroyed monster is LIGHT as this time. If "Brain Golem" destroys a monster by battles whose Attribute is changed to LIGHT by "Scroll of Bewitchment" during Damage Calculation, then the effect of "Brain Golem" activates after Damage Calculation and "Brain Golem" can attack once more. Later, when the destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard, its Attribute is no longer treated as LIGHT, but the effect of "Brain Golem" has already resolved so "Brain Golem" can still attack once more.

• "Brain Golem" can only negate the effect of a monster which is face-up on the field. When "Winged Kuriboh LV10" Tributes itself to activate its effect, it is no longer face-up on the field, so the effect will not be negated by the effect of "Brain Golem".

• If the Attribute of "Brain Golem" becomes LIGHT by an effect like that of "DNA Transplant", then the effect of "Brain Golem" is negated. Other than "Brain Golem", the effects of all other LIGHT monsters on the field are not negated.
