OCG Rulings[]

  • Sending 1 Fairy-Type monster to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect.[1]
  • The effect targets 1 Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard.[1]
  • You can Special Summon the same monster sent to the Graveyard to activate the effect.[2]
  • You cannot activate the effect if there is no Fairy-Type monster in the Graveyard that you can Special Summon, even if you intend on Special Summoning the monster sent to the Graveyard to activate the effect.[2]
  • When "Athena" is Normal/Flip/Special Summoned, her effect to inflict damage does not activate.[3]
  • When multiple Fairy-Type monsters are Summoned simultaneously, the effect activates once and you inflict only 600 damage.[4]

Previously Official Rulings[]

  • "Athena's" first effect does not inflict damage when it is Summoned.

Notes[]

  1. "Tributing" is a typo originally used on the Upper Deck Entertainment website. The monster sent is not considered to be Tributed.
