Yu-Gi-Oh![]
- The Eye of Truth was a Spell card in the Japanese version. It didn't increase the opponent's Life Points by 1000 if he/she had a Spell card in his/her hand. It was also a Normal Trap/Spell Card, since when Yugi used it, he only saw Kaiba's hand for 1 turn.
- In episode 22, this card was shown in Yami Yugi's hand during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. In the next episode, Yugi activates this card to see Kaiba's hand and (to his shock) he sees that Kaiba had a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in his hand, but didn't summon it yet. Yugi then deduces that Kaiba might be planning on fusing his three "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" together (in the dub, Yami questioned what Kaiba was planning to do with the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon").
- In episode 33, this card appears when Yami Yugi explains to Joey Wheeler that Duel Monsters is about the balance between Monster, Spell and Trap Cards.
- In episode 131, this card is seen in a series of flashbacks Kaiba has when he notes to himself that he always feels excited when he Duels against Yugi.
- In the Japanese anime, the card's pronunciation was "Shinjitsu no Manako" instead of "Shinjitsu no Me".
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX[]
Manga[]
- In this series, this card retains its designation as a Normal Spell Card, similar to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga.
- In chapter 59, Atticus Rhodes uses this card during his duel against Jaden Yuki. He activates this card to look at Jaden's hand in order to successfully declare one card in said hand for the effect of "The Suppression Pluto".
