In the anime, when this card is used on a monster, the affected monster is usually shown being shrunk down.

In episode 93, Seto Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Ishizu Ishtar. When "Mudora" (whose ATK was 2000 due to it being equipped with "Sword of Dogra") attacks "Vorse Raider", Kaiba activates this card to halve the ATK of "Vorse Raider". "Mudora then destroys "Vorse Raider", but this allows Kaiba to activate "Crush Card Virus", destroying "Mudora" and every monster in Ishizu's hand and Deck that have at least 1500 ATK. In the next episode, this card, "Kaiser Glider", "Polymerization", "Vorse Raider", "Crush Card Virus", and "Virus Cannon" are sent back to Kaiba's Deck due to Ishizu's "Exchange of the Spirit".

In episode 108, this card appears in a flashback explained by Leichter when he reminds Seto that his birthday gift from Gozaburo Kaiba was where all the mistakes made by Seto himself began.

In episode 121, Seto uses this card during his Duel against Gozaburo Kaiba. He uses this card to halve the ATK of "Exodia Necross". On Seto's End Phase, this card's effect card expires.

In episode 122, this card is shown in Kaiba's hand during the four way Duel between himself, Yami Yugi, Joey Wheeler, and Yami Marik. Two episodes later, "Dark Jeroid" attacks "Gearfried the Iron Knight" (whose ATK was 1000 due to the effect of "Dark Jeroid"), but Joey activates "Skull Dice" to roll a die and divide the ATK of "Dark Jeroid" by the result. Joey gets a two, so the ATK of "Dark Jeroid" is halved. However Kaiba activates this card to halve the ATK of "Gearfried the Iron Knight". "Dark Jeroid" then destroys "Gearfried the Iron Knight".

In episode 129, this card appears in a flashback that Yami Yugi has when he wonders to himself if Kaiba will use the same strategy he used against Ishizu for the current Duel between himself and Yugi.

In episode 135, Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Joey. When "Gearfried the Iron Knight" attacks "Ryu-Kishin Powered", Kaiba activates this card to halve the ATK of "Ryu-Kishin Powered". "Gearfried the Iron Knight" then destroys "Ryu-Kishin Powered", but this allows Kaiba to activate "Crush Card Virus", destroying "Gearfried the Iron Knight" and every monster in Joey's hand and Deck that have at least 1500 ATK.

In episode 149, Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Alister while the latter was disguised as Maximillion Pegasus. He uses this card to halve the attack of "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon". On Kaiba's End Phase, the effect of this card expires.

In episode 158, Rafael uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. When Yami Yugi activates the effect of "Catapult Turtle" to Tribute "Dark Magician Girl" (who had 2800 ATK due to its own effect and "The Seal of Orichalcos") and inflict half of "Dark Magician Girl's" ATK as damage to Rafael, Rafael activates this card to halve the ATK of "Dark Magician Girl" (as well as halve the effect damage he would take). The effect of "Catapult Turtle" then continues and inflicts damage to Rafael.

In episode 180, Kaiba uses this card during his Tag Duel with Yami Yugi against Dartz. When "Orichalcos Malevolence" attacks "Different Dimension Dragon", Kaiba activates this card to halve the ATK of "Orichalcos Malevolence", but Dartz uses the effect of "Orichalcos Tritos" to negate this card's effect and destroy it.

In episode 195, Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Zigfried von Schroeder. After Zigfried activates "Pegasus Wing" to halve the ATK of "Valkyrie Brunhilde" (who was equipped with "Enchanted Sword Nothung") until the End Phase and allow it to attack directly for one turn, "Valkyrie Brunhilde" attacks directly, but Kaiba activates this card to halve the ATK of "Valkyrie Brunhilde". The direct attack continues. On Zigfried's End Phase, the effect of this card and the effect of "Pegasus Wing" expire.

In episode 200, Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Yami Bakura. He uses this card to halve the ATK of Bakura's "The Duke of Demise". On Kaiba's End Phase, this card's effect expires.
