Yusei Fudo summoned this on is first turn against Lenny in episode 2 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. Lenny attempted to destroy it with "Chainsaw Insect", but Yusei protected it with "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow". Lenny then destroyed "Shield Warrior" with "Metal Armored Bug".

In episode 5 Yusei Summoned this against Jack Atlas. Jack destroyed it with "Red Dragon Archfiend's effect. Yusei later used "Shield Warrior's" effect to prevent "Stardust Dragon" being destroyed in battle from "Red Dragon Archfiend".

In episode 21, Yusei Fudo Summoned this against Greiger. Greiger destroyed it with "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE". Later Yusei removed it from play to prevent "Junk Synchron" from being destroyed by battle.

In episode 23, Yusei Summoned this in Defense Position against Akiza Izinski.

In episode 24 Akiza uses "Ivy Shackles" to turn it into a Plant. This allowed her to attack Yusei directly with "Rose Tentacles" since it got an extra attack for every Plant Yusei controlled, but Yusei activated "Card Defense", discarding "Equip Shot" to negate the attack. He later removed it from play to prevent Junk Warrior from being destroyed in battle.

In episode 40, Yusei Summoned this in Defense Position against Akiza Izinski.

In episode 41, Akiza used "Black Rose Dragon's" effect on "Shield Warrior", but Yusei effectively undid it with "Realize Defense". Akiza then attacked it with "Black Rose Dragon". Due to "Thorn of Malice", "Shield Warrior" was not destroyed, but lost ATK and DEF, while Yusei took Piercing Damage. Yusei later used it as Synchro Material to Summon "Stardust Dragon".
