Card Appearances:Guardian Eatos

• In episode 156, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Rafael has when he explains his backstory to Yami Yugi. A younger Rafael is shown obtaining this card as a birthday present from his siblings while on a cruise trip. However a tidal wave suddenly sweeps Rafael off the ship and he was left stranded on an island. This card, "Grarl", and "Kay'est" then became the spirits that would protect and help him while he was on the island. The three cards were nearly swept off into the ocean, but Rafael saves them and keeps them close to a fire to dry them off. After a while, Rafael rows to a new island on a new raft, but gets stopped by a pillar of light. When he wakes up, he finds himself lying on his raft, but a boat comes to his rescue. After Rafael returns to civilization, he soon meets the voice he heard while on the raft. The island that he saw before comes into view and Dartz offers Rafael to help him rebuild civilization to how it should have been. He creates a pillar path that Rafael and his three Guardians travel across as they head towards the island.

• In episode 158, Rafael uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He Special Summons this card from his hand due to "Celestial Sword - Eatos" being on the field and due to Rafael having no monsters in his Graveyard. Rafael then activates the effect of "Backup Gardna" to equip this card with "Celestial Sword - Eatos", increasing the ATK of this card by 300 and decreasing the ATK of "Backup Gardna" to its original value. Rafael then activates this card's effect, sending "Celestial Sword" to the Graveyard in order to banish five monsters from Yami Yugi's Graveyard (they were "Dark Magician", "Dark Magician Girl", "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts", "Berfomet", and "Big Shield Gardna"). This card's ATK was then increased by the total ATK of the banished monsters. This card then attacks and destroys "Kuribabylon", defeating Yami Yugi.

• In episode 160, this card is seen in a flashback Yami Yugi has when he saw that his own monsters were angry at him for his selfish actions and when he lost his Duel with Rafael.

• In episode 163, this card appears in a dream that Yami Yugi has when he remembers losing against Rafael and Yugi letting "The Seal of Orichalcos" take his soul instead of Yami's.

• In episode 174, this card appears in a flashback Rafael has when he remembers defeating Yami Yugi back at the desert, but taking Yugi's soul instead of Yami Yugi's due to the former pushing the latter out of the way at the last second.

• In episode 175, Rafael uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He Special Summons this card from his hand since "Celestial Sword - Eatos" was on the field and he had no monsters on the field. Like Yami's "Dark Magician" in Rafael and Yami Yugi's first Duel, this card was shown resisting the power of the "Orichalcos" before being fully corrupted. This card then gained 500 ATK due to "The Seal of Orichalcos". Rafael then uses the effect of "Backup Gardna" to equip "Celestial Sword" to this card instead, increasing its ATK by 300. After Yami Yugi activates the effect of "Kuribandit" by Tributing it, Rafael activates this card's effect to send "Celestial Sword - Eatos" to the Graveyard and banish "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts", "Gamma the Magnet Warrior", and "Kuribandit" from Yami Yugi's Graveyard as well as increase the ATK of this card by the total ATK of the banished monsters until the End Phase. This increases this card's ATK to 7000. This card then attacks "Dark Magician", but Yami Yugi uses the effect of the "Electromagnetic Turtle" in his Graveyard to end the Battle Phase. This card's ATK went back to 3000 on Rafael's End Phase. On Rafael's next turn, this card attacks "Dark Magician", but Yami activates "Magical Hats" to create four hats and shuffle his "Dark Magician" and "Big Shield Gardna" within them. This card then destroys a hat which is revealed to contain "Big Shield Gardna". Later "Amulet Dragon" (whose ATK was 5300 due to its own effect) attacks and destroys this card, causing the darkness in Rafael's heart to corrupt him and allowing Rafael to Special Summon "Guardian Dreadscythe". In the next episode, Yami Yugi activates "Spider Web" to take "Monster Reborn" from Rafael's Graveyard and add it to his hand. Yami Yugi then activates "Monster Reborn" to revive this card. Yami Yugi then activates "Claw of Hermos" to merge it with "Queen's Knight" and create "Goddess Bow". Yami Yugi then equips "Goddess Bow" onto this card, doubling its ATK. Since this card was removed from the Graveyard, the ATK of "Dreadscythe" is decreased to 5000. Yami Yugi then uses this card to attack "Dreadscythe". This would have destroyed both monsters, but Rafael activates the effect of "Dreadscythe" to discard a card and negate the destruction of "Dreadscythe". Yami Yugi then activates the effect of "Goddess Bow", negating the Battle Damage that would have been dealt to him and preventing this card from being destroyed by the attack as well as allowing this card to attack again every time it fails to destroy "Dreadscythe" due to its effect. This continued until Rafael ran out of cards and once that happened, "Guardian Dreadscythe" and this card were destroyed in a Double KO. By doing all of this, Yami Yugi was able to help Rafael regain control of himself. Guided by this card, Rafael chose to remove all the monsters in his Graveyard and willingly lose the Duel. Doing this spares his soul however as Rafael had managed to conquer the darkness in his heart.
  • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Yami Yugi has when he notes to Rafael his heart was crying when this card was destroyed and he ruthlessly sacrificed his monsters.
  • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appeared in two flashbacks. The first was a flashback that was shown to Rafael and Yami Yugi via "Underworld Circle". It was about how Dartz made Rafael one of his most loyal servants and how he made Rafael descend down into darkness. After a younger Rafael found the skulls of his siblings, he screamed in sorrow. At this point, this monster appeared behind him. Rafael then gives this monster the skulls and she holds them to her chest. After Rafael puts on the Chaos Duel Disk and plays "The Seal of Orichalcos". The skulls dissolve from this monster's hands. She is then enveloped in fire before being dragged down into the hole Rafael created. "Guardian Dreadscythe" then rises out of the hole and Dartz declares to Rafael, this monster will be his new Guardian. The second flashback involved Rafael's bond with his family and monsters. Yami Yugi said that Rafael's bond with his family and monsters can change destiny.

• In episode 179, Rafael found out that Dartz was the one responsible for the tidal wave that caused the ship he was on as a child to be sunk down. Rafael angered, uses his remaining strength, the power of "The Seal of Orichalcos" and this card equipped with "Celestial Sword - Eatos" to use "The Seal of Orichalcos" against Dartz. Rafael's attempt backfired on him, however, causing this monster to disappear. "The Seal of Orichalcos" then took away Rafael's soul since he gave into the darkness inside him and remained in that state when his soul was about to be taken.

• In episode 183, this card appears in a flashback that Rafael has while trapped within the Great Leviathan when he remembers seeing his family's graves and Yami Yugi using "Monster Reborn" to revive this card.
