- In episode 172, Joey Wheeler uses this card during his Duel against Mai Valentine. He summons this card in Attack Position. Mai's "Cyber Harpie Lady" (whose ATK was 2100 due to it being equipped with "Aero Nail") then attacks and destroys this card. Joey then activates this card's first effect to Special Summon "Flame Swordsman". In the next episode, Joey activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to add this card from his Graveyard to his hand. After Joey Normal Summons this card, he creates "Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword" by merging his "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" with "The Claw of Hermos". Joey then equips "Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword" onto this card, increasing its ATK by 1000. This card then attacks and destroys one of Mai's "Harpie Lady Sisters". Mai then activates "Harpie's Feather Duster" to destroy Joey's "Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword" and his two set cards. She then activates "Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation" to destroy this card and inflict its total ATK as damage to Joey, but Joey activates this card's second effect to decrease this card's ATK to 0 and increase the ATK of one of Mai's "Harpie Lady Sisters" by the same amount so that he would take no damage from the effect of "Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation". Joey then activates this card's first effect to Special Summon "Flame Swordsman" from the Graveyard.
- In episode 184, this card appears in a flashback Mai has when she remembers Joey telling her he learned a lot from Dueling Valon and that he is Dueling her in order to convey his will to her.
- In episode 191, Joey draws this card and "Release Restraint" through the effect of "Nibelung's Ring" during his Duel against Zigfried von Schroeder. Due to the effect of "Nibelung's Ring", Joey was forced to discard this card to the Graveyard.
- In North American WCQ 2019 Special: Joey Wheeler vs. Ishizu Ishtar, Joey Normal Summons this card, then uses its effect to reduce its ATK by 600 and boost the ATK of his "Flame Swordsman" by the same amount. This card then attacks Ishizu directly. On Ishizu's turn, her "Gravekeeper's Descendant" attacks and destroys this card; its effect that would have revived "Flame Swordsman" is negated by "Necrovalley" which was on the field.
