I need to know the best plant/insect support monsters; I have Jerry Beans Man x3, Insect Knight x3, Fairy King Truesdale, Ultimate Insect all levels except 7, Flying Kamakiri #1 x3, and Forest along with Prickle Fairy and Dreamsprite. I need to know which monsters to add, and which spells/traps are going to be essential. So far I can summon Ultimate Insect really fast due to Howling Insect, Gokipon or Flying Kamakiri but I need to crank my deck up. Please help!
- Two things. First, sign your post. Second, put up your deck list so that we can see what cards are in the deck. Runer5h 19:37, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

- Now, that's just weird. It's a Plant/Insect hybrid, but doesn't have Gigaplant, which supports both and has great ATK? You should put some in. Oh, and put < b r > (except with no spaces) after each line so that the card names aren't all in one difficult-on-the-eyes paragraph. Runer5h 20:09, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
One: That didn't help much but thank you.
Two: I haven't found a Gigaplant yet, nor have my friends.169.139.115.67 20:13, 31 March 2009 (UTC) Soiuku
- Well, I'm suggesting what I believe would be an optimal build, regardless of whether you have the cards. Besides, you can always get the cards, right? Personally, I don't think there's enough cross-support to merit blending insects and plants. (4 cards, people - Gigaplant, Prickle Fairy, Anti-Aircraft Flower, and Forest. Actually, Prickle Fairy and Anti-Aircraft Flower don't support plants, they just happen to be plant-type.) I'll focus on insects in this post, and see if I can make a good beatdown deck (I think that's what you're aiming for).
- In that case, I'd suggest three Cross-Sword Beetle. It allows any insect to pierce as long as there's an insect besides itself on the field. I also would suggest 3 Aztekipede, the Worm Warrior, which is like the Gigantes of insects. And finally, I'd put in Desert Protector, which starts off at only 1000 DEF, but gains more for each Spell or Trap card on either side of the field. It will also shield your insects from destruction.
- Because all these monsters are level 4, a great card for this deck would be Verdant Sanctuary. It'll ensure that you have a steady stream of piercing insect beatsticks, because when your insect monster is destroyed, you can add an insect to your hand with the same level. It also isn't a field card, so you can use it and Forest together.
- Another great level 4 insect is Pinch Hopper, because it will summon any Insect from your hand. And finally, for a great win, you can use Doom Dozer, the upgraded version of Aztekipede. It has 2800 ATK and shouldn't be that hard to summon with all the Insects that will be going to the graveyard.
- Anyways, if I were to make this deck, it might look something like this:
Monsters
- Insect Knight x3
- Aztekipede, the Worm Warrior x3
- Cross-Sword Beetle x3
- Pinch Hopper x3
- Chainsaw Insect x3
- Desert Protector x3
- Doom Dozer x2
- Gigaplant x2
- King Tiger Wanghu x2
- Forest x3
- Verdant Sanctuary x3
- Rush Recklessly x2
- Hammer Shot x3
- I'm not saying that this is the only way to build an Insect Deck, but this is how I'd do it. King Tiger Wanghu might seem weird, but he won't conflict with any of your monsters (except Desert Protector, which you'll be setting) and gets a boost from Forest. Sounds good to me. - And now, to explain myself in more detail. My idea for this deck is to get out huge insects that are renewable thanks to Verdant Sanctuary. They can power up using Forest, and get piercing abilities due to Cross-Sword Beetle. If copies go down, they can be revived with Gigaplant, or removed to special summon Aztekipede or Doom Dozer. Plus, they'll add more beaters to your hand.
- Verdant Sanctuary is an incredible card in this deck. It acts like a pimped version of Sangan, in my opinion - I just wish it were searchable. It combos really well with:
- Pinch Hopper: I might be wrong, but if this card is destroyed while Verdant Sanctuary is on the field, you should be able to select any level 4 insect monster in your deck and add it to your hand with the Sanctuary, and then special summon it with Pinch Hopper. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
- Desert Protector: If an Insect-Type monster you control would be destroyed, you can destroy this card instead. You don't tribute it to negate the destruction - you destroy it. That means it triggers Verdant Sanctuary's effect, and that's good.
- Hammer Shot: This serves two purposes. You can destroy a giant threat like a Monarch, for example, that you can't seem to run over. Or, you can destroy an insect of your own, searching out whatever you need. A really cool combo is to destroy Desert Protector instead of, say, Insect Knight, and get Aztekipede, which you can then special summon by removing Desert Protector.
- King Tiger Wanghu: As I said before, he won't conflict with any of your monsters. That's because when the King eats one of your bugs, you search out another one with the Sanctuary. This combos well with Pinch Hopper, as explained above.
- I realize that this isn't exactly faithful to your version, Soiuku. But I think that this would be a really cool deck to play. (Disclaimer; all statements here are theoretical. I don't have these cards to play-test with.) Insects are awesome. Other ideas would be Man-Eater Bug, because if attacked, it will destroy a monster, then add another Man-Eater to your hand. But that's just one suggestion. Runer5h 23:28, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
