I need some feedback to resolve an edit war over a possible duel error. The error concerns Neo-Spacian Glow Moss. A refresher on its effect in the anime:
"When this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent draws 1 card. If they cannot, send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard. If your opponent draws a card by this card's effect, reveal that card, and based on its type apply an appropriate effect: ● Monster: End the Battle Phase. ● Spell: You can change this card's attack to a direct attack. ● Trap: Change this card to Defense Position."
The error in question is GX 107 - Jesse's Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth attacks a defense-position Glow Moss and its effect to make Jesse draw does not activate. I've said this is an error because it should have activated, another user says no, because it is the opponent's turn and Glow Moss cannot attack on the opponent's turn, and it is already in Defense position, so its effect is useless. An admin has weighed in that it may hinge on Glow Moss's effect being "When" and not "If" (for the record, the real Glow Moss uses "If").
For me, the answer is simple - the first time Jaden used Glow Moss, against the mill duelist, he won by putting it on his opponent's field and attacking it to activate its effect over and over. This confirms Glow Moss's effect DOES activate on the opponent's turn. The only difference is that in that episode, Glow Moss was in Attack position, not Defense. But its rulings say nothing about it needing to be in a certain battle position to use its effect, and since it can't attack on the opponent's turn and its Spell effect cannot be used, I don't see why inability to use its Trap effect would stop its effect from activating if inability to use the Spell effect doesn't.
Opinions are appreciated to resolve this. Thank you.
